Errington Ridley Liddell Keen (4 October 1910 – July 1984) was an Englishfootball player and manager. Keen played at both professional and international levels, before becoming a coach at national and international level in Europe and Africa.
Born inWalker,Newcastle upon Tyne, Keen, who played as aleft half, played club football for Newcastle Schools, Nun's Moor, Newcastle Swifts,Newcastle United,Derby County,Chelmsford City,Hereford United,Leeds United andBacup Borough.[1][2]
He also earned four caps forEngland between 1932 and 1936.[3] Making his debut in a friendly match against Austria on 7 December 1932.
Keen was player-manager ofHereford United between 1939 and 1940.[4][5]
Keen managedEgypt between 1947 and 1948,[6] and was in charge at the1948 Summer Olympics.[7]
Keen later managedHong Kong in 1948,[8] Swedish club sideIFK Norrköping[9] and Turkish club sideBeşiktaş between 1949 and 1950.
Keen died in July 1984.[10]
