Fast Eddie Joe Robinson (born 19 September 1994), known professionally asEddie-Joe Robinson, is an English actor. He began his career appearing in various stage productions after training at theNational Youth Theatre, with starring roles inJekyll and Hyde,Save + Quit,Coriolanus andSorry, You're Not a Winner, amongst other productions. He has also made various appearances in television series, having playedJono Laverne on theITV1 soap operaEmmerdale in 2019 andRyan Firth on theBBC medical drama seriesCasualty between 2023 and 2024.

Life and career

Fast Eddie Joe Robinson was born inSheffield,South Yorkshire on 19 September 1994.[1][2] He studied mathematics atUniversity College London and became a maths tutor.[3] Robinson also trained in acting at theNational Youth Theatre (NYT).[4] Whilst at NYT, he appeared in stage productions includingIf Kevin Can,Othello andMrs Dalloway.[5] He then made his professional stage debut inSave + Quit at theAssembly George Square Studios.[6]

Robinson made his television debut in an episode of theBBC medical soap opera as a younger version of regular characterRob Hollins in flashback scenes.[7] He then made his film debut in 2017, inHow to Talk to Girls at Parties.[8] After appearing in an episode of the crime drama seriesRansom, Robinson appeared in a 2019 episode of the BBC medical dramaCasualty as a patient.[9] Later in 2019, he played the recurring role ofJono Laverne on theITV1 soap operaEmmerdale in 2019.[5] He was introduced as the friend of established characterMatty Barton (Ash Palmisciano).[10]

In 2020, Robinson returned to the stage to appear in a production ofCoriolanus at Sheffield'sCrucible Theatre.[11][12] Then in 2022, he starred inPaines Plough's touring production ofSorry, You're Not a Winner.[13][14] He also continued to make various television appearances, including roles inSmall Axe,The One andGrantchester, until he returned toCasualty full-time in 2023.[15] He was cast as nurseRyan Firth and made his first appearance as the character on 8 April 2023.[16][17] Robinson's casting was part of a shakeup on the series and was announced alongside three other new castings:Anna Chell,Sarah Seggari andBarney Walsh.[18] Robinson made an unannounced departure from the series in January 2024.[19]
