Chemical compound

Ascorbyl stearate (C24H42O7) is anester formed fromascorbic acid andstearic acid. In addition to its use as a source ofvitamin C, it is used as anantioxidantfood additive inmargarine (E number E305). TheUSDA limits its use to 0.02% individually or in conjunction with other antioxidants.
