Dattapukur (also known asDuttapukur[1]) (Code:DTK) is a railway station inNorth 24 Parganas district,West Bengal onSealdah-Bangaon line. It serves the town ofDuttapukur. The station consists of 3 platforms. The station lacks many facilities including water, sanitation and it being fully sheltered.[2]
The station is located onSealdah–Hasnabad–Bangaon–Ranaghat line ofKolkata Suburban Railway. Link betweenDum Dum toKhulna now inBangladesh, viaBangaon was constructed byBengal Central Railway Company in 1882–84.[3] TheSealdah–Dum Dum–Barasat–Bangaon sector was electrified in 1963–64.[4]
Eastern Railway operates a couple of local train services, which originate and terminate at this station. They're popularly known asDattapukur Local among commuters. There are two routes of this type of services, one serves betweenSealdah & Dattapukur[5] and another betweenMajerhat & Dattapukur.
