TheDullay languages belong to theCushitic subgroup of theAfro-Asiatic language family and are spoken inEthiopia. Dullay is adialect continuum consisting of theGawwada andTsamai languages. Blench (2006) places most ofBussa in theKonsoid languages, and counts several Gawwada varieties as distinct languages.[1]
The name Dullay is derived from the name Dullay-speaking groups use for theWeito River. Other terms that have been used for this language family in scientific literature areWerizoid (from the former administrative name of the area inhabited by Dullay speakers) andQawko (from the word "man" in Dullay languages).
