Domingos Leite Pereira (Portuguese:[duˈmĩɡuʒˈlɐjtɨpɨˈɾɐjɾɐ]; 19 September 1880[1] – 27 October 1956) was aPortuguese politician of thePortuguese First Republic. He had degrees intheology and literature of theUniversity of Coimbra. He helped to improve the relationships between the republic and the Catholic Church during his government.
During his life he served in many political posts:
After the28 May 1926 revolution that installed theDitadura Nacional (National Dictatorship) that would be followed byAntónio de Oliveira Salazar's fascistEstado Novo (New State) regime, he abandoned his political life. Until the end of his life in 1956, he served as President of the insurance companyDouro.
