Dmitry Vlasov (born 11 July 1982) is a former professionaltennis player from Russia.
Vlasov, who is originally fromTula, was ranked as high as 11 in the world for singles during his junior career and had wins over future top players includingDavid Nalbandian andRobin Söderling.[1] He made the semi-finals of theboys' singles at the1999 US Open.[2]
His only appearance in the main draw of anATP Tour tournament came at the2001 Swedish Open. After defeatingRadek Štěpánek to make it through qualifying, Vlasov lost to SpaniardAlbert Portas in the first round.[3]
A regular on theChallenger circuit, Vlasov won a total of four titles, all in doubles. He was runner-up in singles at theTogliatti Challenger in 2002 and had a win overPhilipp Kohlschreiber at a Challenger tournament in the Indian city ofBelgaum in 2003.[4][5]
In 2005, he received a one year suspension after testing positive toPemoline, reduced from two years after an appeal, from a sample given during qualifying for the2004 Kremlin Cup.[6][7]
