Dhapdhapi railway station is aKolkata Suburban Railway Station on theMain line. It is under the jurisdiction of theSealdah railway division in theEastern Railway zone of theIndian Railways. Dhapdhapi railway station is situated beside Baruipur-Kulpi Road, Chandkhali, Dhapdhapi,South 24 Parganas district in theIndianstate ofWest Bengal.[1][2]

History

In 1882, theEastern Bengal Railway constructed a1,676 mm (5 ft 6 in)-widebroad-gauge railway fromSonarpur Junction toJaynagar Majilpur via Dhapdhapi.[3]

Electrification

Electrification fromSonarpur Junction toJaynagar Majilpur including Dhapdhapi was completed with 25 kV AC overhead system in 1965–66.[4]

Station complex

The platform is very much well sheltered. The station possesses many facilities including water and sanitation. It is well connected to theSH-1. There is a proper approach road to this station.[5]
