David Matthew Wyman (born March 31, 1964) is an American former professionalfootball player, alinebacker in theNational Football League (NFL) for nine seasons with theSeattle Seahawks andDenver Broncos.
Born inSan Diego,California, Wyman attendedEarl Wooster High School inReno, Nevada, and graduated in 1982. He playedcollege football atStanford University, where he led the team in tackles as a sophomore in1983 and again in1984, but incurred a knee injury in the penultimate game.[1][2] Wymanredshirted in1985 and returned in1986 to lead theCardinal with 169 tackles and wasAll-Pac-10.[3][4]

Wyman was selected by the Seahawks in thesecond round of the1987 NFL draft with the 45th overall selection.[6] Midway through his rookie year in1987, he was traded to theSan Francisco 49ers,[7] but a failed physical due to a bad left shoulder nullified it.[8] Wyman played six seasons for the Seahawks, but left as a free agent before the1993 season[9][10] and played his final three years with the Broncos.
Wyman andBrian Bosworth were next-door neighbors on theEastside while they were teammates with the Seahawks.[11]
Wyman returned to theSeattle area and is a popular co-host of the afternoon radio showWyman and Bob onKIRO 710, part of theESPN Radio network. He is a frequent contributor toSeahawks Saturday Night onKCPQ television, the SeattleFox affiliate.
Wyman took over as the Seahawks radio analyst for the final four regular season games in December2017 afterWarren Moon took an indefinite leave of absence to resolve a sexual harassment case against him.[12]In 2018, Wyman permanently replaced Moon on Seahawks radio.
Wyman married Shannen Forrest ofEdmonds in May 1993;[10] they met while she was a member of theSea Gals and they have two children.[13]
Older brother Mike Wyman also played college football at Stanford, as adefensive tackle; both started for the Cardinal defense in 1983.[14]
