Dafen is a village situated east ofLlanelli inCarmarthenshire, Wales, part of theLlanelli Rural community. Dafen borders the villages ofFelinfoel (Bryngwyn-Mawr),Bryn,Penceilogi, andPemberton.
Dafen is also anelectoral ward, electing councillors toLlanelli Rural Council andCarmarthenshire County Council. At the2001 census the Dafenward had a population of 3,433,[1] increasing to 3,597 at the 2011 Census.[2]
The village has bothresidential and industrial areas, and Llanelli'sPrince Philip Hospital is located here.
Wales Air Ambulance is based at Dafen in a purpose-built headquarters completed in 2016.[3]
