Cymbiola is agenus of largepredatorysea snail, amarinegastropodmollusk in the familyVolutidae, the volutes.[2]
Some of the species within this genus are sometimes placed in the genusCymbiolaccaIredale, 1929, which is also sometimes treated as a subgenus ofCymbiola.
The thin shell is ovate and cymbiform. Thespire is more or less produced. Theapex is papillary and somewhat irregular. Theaperture is wide. The innerlip shows a thin callus. Thecolumella contains a few oblique plaits at the fore part. The acute outer lip is often somewhat dilated.[3]
