Slobodan Veljković (Serbian Cyrillic:Слободан Вељковић,pronounced[slobǒdanʋěːʎkoʋitɕ]; born 11 April 1985), known professionally asCoby (pronounced[tsǒbi]), is a Serbian rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. Born inBelgrade and raised inProkuplje, in 2007, he relocated back to Belgrade where he began working with Rexxxona and his record label Bassivity.[1]
Coby gained more significant success by writing and producing songs forturbo-folk singers likeBoban Rajović,Dara Bubamara andAna Nikolić. As a recording artist he rose to mainstream prominence in 2015, with the single "Ideš za Kanadu" featuring THCF, released for the purposes of the crimedocumentary seriesDosije.[2]
Coby has collaborated with numerous acts, includingElitni Odredi,Rasta,Nikolija,Senidah,Jala Brat i Buba Corelli,Sara Jo,Nataša Bekvalac,Bojana Vunturišević andTeodora. His is known for blendingtrap music with the elements ofturbo-folk music.[3] His songs often feature the signature watermark "Coby, jesi li ti radio traku?" (Coby, did you do the track?).[1]
In January 2023, Veljković became the first recipient of the Master of Ceremony Award at theMusic Awards Ceremony, for his success in music.[4]
