Ciarán Lynch (born 13 June 1964) is an Irish formerLabour Party politician who served as aTeachta Dála (TD) for theCork South-Central constituency from 2007 to 2016.[1]

He was educated atUniversity College Cork, studyingsocial studies, and at theWaterford Institute of Technology, studyinghumanities. Lynch has been a member of the constituency executive since 1999. He works as an Adult Literacy Organiser inCork and is married with two children.[2]

Lynch served as a member ofCork City Council from 2004 to 2007,[3] and was elected toDáil Éireann at the2007 general election. He was re-elected at the2011 general election. He was the Labour Party spokesperson on Housing and Local Government. Lynch launched the Simon Communities National Conference on Homelessness and Health in 2011.[4]

He is brother-in-law toKathleen Lynch who was a Labour Party TD forCork North-Central.[citation needed]

He lost his seat at the2016 general election.[3]
