Chuschi is a town in theChuschi District of theCangallo Province of theAyacucho Region ofPeru. On May 17, 1980,Shining Pathguerrillas begantheir war against the Peruvian state byburning ballot boxes in Chuschi. On March 14, 1991, government forces perpetrated theChuschi massacre in the town.
