Christian ListFBA (born 1973) is a Germanphilosopher andpolitical scientist who serves as professor ofphilosophy anddecision theory at theLudwig Maximilian University of Munich and co-director of the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy.[2][3] He was previously professor ofpolitical science and philosophy at theLondon School of Economics. List's research interests relate tosocial choice theory,formal epistemology,political philosophy, and thephilosophy of social science.[4]
Born inNastätten, Germany, on 7 November 1973, List earned hisBachelor of Arts andMaster of Philosophy degrees atSt Peter's College, and hisDoctor of Philosophy degree atNuffield College, bothUniversity of Oxford. He was elected to theBritish Academy in 2014, the United Kingdom'snational academy for the humanities and social sciences.[5]
