Christian Doermer (5 July 1935 – 14 July 2022) was a German actor and director.[ 1] [ 2] He appeared in more than 80 films and television shows from 1954 to 2022. He starred in the 1966 filmNo Shooting Time for Foxes . The film was entered into the16th Berlin International Film Festival , where it won theSilver Bear Extraordinary Jury Prize .[ 3] In 1969, Doermer appeared as a German soldier attending theChristmas truce in SirRichard Attenborough 's satiricalWorld War I musical filmOh! What a Lovely War .
Doermer himself has also directed a fair number of films including documentaries and television films. In 1962, he was one of the 26 authors of the famousOberhausen Manifesto , demanding a change in German film.
