Choleeswaram temple is a 10th-centuryChola DynastySolesvara temple built in honour of emperorRaja Raja Chola I inPeraru,Kantalai,Trincomalee District. Inscriptions found at the ruins of this temple relate to its establishment and connection toTrincomalee's ancientKoneswaram temple. It is made inDravidian architecture of the Chola period.
