China National Highway 318 (G318) is atrunk road inChina that runs east-west fromShanghai inEast China toZhangmu on theChina-Nepal border. It is the longest of theChina National Highways at 5,476 kilometres (3,403 mi) in length and runs west fromHuangpu District, Shanghai towardsZhejiang,Anhui,Hubei,Chongqing,Sichuan, and ends inTibet Autonomous Region. FromLhasa toZhangmu it is also calledFriendship Highway.FromMarkam toZogang it shares the highway withG214.At theSino-Nepal Friendship Bridge, it connects with the 115 km longAraniko HighwaytoKathmandu.
The route is popular with tourists due to the wide variety of biomes, cultural areas, and natural scenery.[1]
