Chiang Yi-ning (Chinese:江翊寧) is a Taiwanese film editor. She won Best Editing in the14th Taipei Film Awards forCha Cha for Twins (2012), and is known for her work on theNetflix crime seriesThe Victims' Game (2020–2024) and thePTS horror seriesDetention (2020), which earned her nominations forBest Editing for a Drama Series in the55th and56th Golden Bell Awards.
Chiang graduated from the Department of Motion Pictures and Videos,Kun Shan University.[1] After graduation, she worked atCentral Motion Pictures Corporation before establishing her own workshop.[2][3] She made her editing debut with the 2011 television movieLife of Never End Co., Ltd., for which she received a nomination for Best Editing in a Television Show in the46th Golden Bell Awards.[4] In 2012, Chiang edited the comedy filmCha Cha for Twins, winning Best Editing in the14th Taipei Film Awards.[5] She also worked on the romance filmWhen a Wolf Falls in Love with a Sheep that same year,[6] receiving an Outstanding Artistic Contribution Award in the15th Taipei Film Awards along with the rest of the crew.[3] The following year, she edited the musical comedyThe Rooftop, directed by and starringJay Chou, describing the experience as "hectic".[3] She continued her work as an editor for the 2014 action filmBlack & White: The Dawn of Justice,[3] the 2015 horror filmThe Laundryman [zh],[5] and the 2018 romance filmMore than Blue, which became the highest-grossing Taiwanese film of the year.[7] In 2019, Chiang worked on thePTS horror thriller seriesGreen Door and theNetflix action comedy seriesTriad Princess,[3] produced by the production house co-founded by Chiang and her husbandShieh Meng-ju.[8] In 2020, she edited the Netflix crime seriesThe Victims' Game with Shieh,[9] earning a nomination forBest Editing for a Drama Series in the55th Golden Bell Awards.[10] That same year, Chiang edited the PTS horror seriesDetention on her own,[11] receiving another nomination for Best Editing for a Drama Series in the56th Golden Bell Awards.[12] She also editedMore Than Blue: The Series, a Netflix remake of the 2018 film,[3] and contributed toArvin Chen's 2022 romance filmMama Boy, which starredVivian Hsu andKai Ko.[13][14] In 2024, Chiang co-edited the horror comedy filmDead Talents Society with Shieh.[15]
Chiang is married to fellow film editorShieh Meng-ju, with whom she co-founded a production house.[7]
