Chernivtsi Raion (Ukrainian:Чернівецький район) is araion (district) ofChernivtsi Oblast,Ukraine. It was created on 18 July 2020 as part of the reform of administrative divisions of Ukraine. Most of its territory is located in the historical region ofBukovina, while the southeastern parts are inBessarabia, and theHertsa region. The center of the raion is the city ofChernivtsi. Four abolished raions,Hertsa,Hlyboka,Storozhynets, andZastavna Raions, part of abolishedKitsman andNovoselytsia Raions, as well as the city ofChernivtsi, which was previously incorporated as acity of oblast significance, were merged into Chernivtsi Raion.[2][3] Population:648,643 (2022 estimate).[1]

- Horishni Sherivtsi rural hromada with the administration in the selo ofHorishni Sherivtsi, transferred from Zastavna Raion;[9]
- Kadubivtsi rural hromada with the administration in the selo ofKadubivtsi, transferred from Zastavna Raion;[9]
