Charles Nosike Rugg (born October 2, 1990) is an Americansoccer player.
Los Angeles Galaxy selected Rugg in the first round (No. 19 overall) of the2013 MLS SuperDraft. Rugg made his debut for Galaxy on April 27, 2013, againstReal Salt Lake and also scored his first professional goal in the 13th minute.[1]
On March 22, 2014, Rugg was sent down to theLA Galaxy II, the reserve side of the Galaxy, and played in the sides firstUSL Pro match against theOrange County Blues. He started the match and scored the first goal in Galaxy II history in the 40th minute.[2]
Rugg was loaned toIndy Eleven for the rest of theNASL season on October 1, 2014. He made his debut on October 4, 2014, against theNew York Cosmos and scored his first goal againstSan Antonio Scorpions on October 18, 2014.[3][4] His game-winning goal againstSan Antonio earned him Play of the Week honors.[5] Over the course of his loan, he started and played 90 minutes in all five games he was available for, with the team getting three wins and two draws in those matches.[6]
On March 18, 2015, Rugg rejoinedIndy Eleven on a season-long loan.[7]
Rugg's MLS contract was not renewed by the LA Galaxy following the 2015 season[8]
He signed withEintracht Trier 05 in February 2016 and scored twice in his debut againstFC Homburg.[9][10]
