Chadra (Arabic:شدرا) is a village inAkkar Governorate,Lebanon.
The population isGreek Orthodox and otherChristian. The village is situated at a distance of 146km fromBeirut at an altitude of 450 m above sea level. It has an area of 651 hectares, surrounded by Owaniat from the west, from the north Machta Hassan andAndaket from the south . Can be accessed in two ways:
Chadra is characterized by a mild climate in summer and winter and the presence of several archaeological sites, most notably the presence of remnants of seven old grinders, and was an old center to group the armies and was considered as center catering to them, as was a home of one of the conquests of PrinceFakhr al-Din.
The residents originally from this village are predominantly doctors of medicine, teachers, soldiers and officers in the Lebanese army (GeneralWehbe Katicha former parliament member and GeneralJean El Atrach commander of theLebanese Commando Regiment), police officers and engineers.
In Chadra, the main political party is theFree patriotic movement. The leader of the Political Party is Fady Tannous and it focuses on promoting the interests of the people in the area and works for positive changes in the community.
