Cathy Weseluck is a Canadian actress and comedian who frequently works withOcean Productions inVancouver,British Columbia and is known for her roles asNear inDeath Note, Cybersix/Adrian Seidelman inCybersix, andSpike inDiscovery Family'sMy Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.

Early life

Cathy Weseluck has Russian ancestry. Her relatives are from theRussian Empire or theSoviet Union (now territoryBelarus).[1][2]

Before becoming a voice actress, Weseluck was an associate producer atCBC Radio until one of the hosts encouraged her to try voice acting.[3] Her first voice work was aradio spot for the Vancouver Centre Mall.

Weseluck has provided voices for many cartoon and anime series. She has provided the voice ofMirai Yashima inMobile Suit Gundam,Dorothy Catalonia andCatherine Bloom inGundam Wing,Near inDeath Note, Cybersix inCybersix,Shampoo inRanma12,Kagome's mother inInuyasha, Verne inU.B.O.S., Misa Takatsuki inProject ARMS, andKid Trunks,Chiaotzu, andPuar inDragon Ball Z (among many others). She also voicesSpike and several background characters in the animated children's seriesMy Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.

In addition to her voice-over work, she is also a voice director and instructor. She served as singing director onMy Little Pony Tales, casting coordinator onAnimated Classic Showcase forFilm Roman, voice director for the English version ofSpiff and Hercules, casting director onThe Authentic Adventures of Professor Thompson and dubbing director onBilly the Cat.
