Carybdea xaymacana is avenomousspecies ofcnidarian, in the small familyCarybdeidae within the classCubozoa.[1] The species has been documented off the coast ofMexico[2] andAustralia.[3] To distinguish this species from othercubozoans along theMexican coasts, one can note its four pedalia, each containing a singletentacle, and its heart-shapedrhopaliar niche ostium.[4]
