TheCape Town French School or theFrançois Le Vaillant French School (French:École française du Cap "François Le Vaillant"[1]) is a French international school inCape Town,South Africa.
It has two campuses, the primary school, within the former primary school building ofTafelberg Remedial School inSea Point,[2] and theLycée Français du Cap, which includes senior high school, inGardens.[3]
The school was initiated in 1985 by a group of French citizens resident in Cape Town so as to provide aFrench Curriculum to their children, it was established in 1987 after securing a location.[4] The Sea Point campus opened in 2014 after it received an 18 millionSouth African rand renovation.[2]
As of 2015 about 41% of the students are not French. Of the overall number of students, 25% are South African.[5]
It directly teaches untilseconde (first year of lycée), then usesCNED forpremière (second year of lycée).[6]
