In 2024, 15,000 onetroy ounce,.9999 finesilver coins, with a face value of 5000CFA each, were minted, backed by the Republic of Chad, withChad's coat of arms on theobverse side and a seven-fingeredcannabis leaf on the reverse side.[1]
Per a 1999 report, the islands ofLake Chad contain a number of hectares of cannabis, but local police have not destroyed them.[2]
