Camael, also spelledChamuel,Khamuel,Camiel,Cameel andCamniel, is anarchangel inChristianangelology.

Camael was excluded from theHoly See's list of named angels in the 2001Directory on popular piety, which states: "The practice of assigning names to the Holy Angels should be discouraged, except in the cases ofGabriel,Raphael, andMichael whose names are contained inHoly Scripture".[1]
