Caleb J. Boushley (born October 1, 1993) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher for theTexas Rangers ofMajor League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for theMilwaukee Brewers andMinnesota Twins.

Career

Amateur career

Boushley attendedHortonville High School inHortonville, Wisconsin.[1] He enrolled at theUniversity of Wisconsin–La Crosse inLa Crosse, Wisconsin, where he playedcollege baseball for theWisconsin–La Crosse Eagles.[2]

San Diego Padres

TheSan Diego Padres selected Boushley in the 33rd round, with the 978th overall selection, of the2017 Major League Baseball draft.[3] He began hisprofessional baseball career in 2017 playing for the rookie-levelArizona League Padres andHigh–ALake Elsinore Storm.[3] He spent some time at Lake Elsinore in 2018 but played the majority of the season with theSingle–AFort Wayne TinCaps.[3] He also made one relief appearance for theTriple-AEl Paso Chihuahuas. Boushley spent the entire 2019 season with Lake Elsinore,[3] and he was selected to play in the 2019California League All-Star Game.[4]

Boushley did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of theCOVID-19 pandemic.[5] In 2021, he began the season with theDouble-ASan Antonio Missions but was promoted to Triple-A El Paso in late June.[4]

Milwaukee Brewers

On December 8, 2021, Boushley was selected by theMilwaukee Brewers in the minor league phase of theRule 5 draft.[4] He spent the 2022 season with the Triple–ANashville Sounds, starting 25 games and posting a 12–2 record and 3.25 ERA with 91 strikeouts across127+13 innings pitched.[6] He returned to Nashville in 2023, making 29 appearances (26 starts) and logging a 9–8 record and 5.11 ERA with a career–high 110 strikeouts across135+23 innings of work.[3]

The Brewers selected Boushley's contract from Nashville on September 29, 2023, and he made his major league debut that night.[7] Pitching against theChicago Cubs, hestruck out five batters while allowing onehit and oneearned run in2+13 innings pitched to earn thewin.[7] Following the season on October 31, Boushley was removed from the 40–man roster and sent outright to Triple–A Nashville.[8] He elected free agency on November 6.[9]

Minnesota Twins

On January 26, 2024, Boushley signed a minor league contract with theMinnesota Twins.[10] On May 1, after 5 starts for the Triple–ASt. Paul Saints, Boushley was added to Minnesota's major league roster.[11] He made one appearance, allowing two runs in two innings of relief against theWashington Nationals. Boushley wasdesignated for assignment by the Twins on July 14.[12] He cleared waivers and was sent outright to St. Paul on July 16.[13] He had his contract selected to the major league roster again on August 27. He was designated for assignment again on September 1.[14] Boushley cleared waivers and was sent outright to St. Paul on September 3.[15] He elected free agency on October 11.[16]

Texas Rangers

On November 15, 2024, Boushley signed a minor league contract with theTexas Rangers.[17] After two starts for the Triple-ARound Rock Express, the Rangers added Boushley to their active roster on April 8, 2025.[18]
