Bustylus is an extinct genus ofeutherians in the familyAdapisoriculidae. It was described by Emmanuel Gheerbrandt and Russell in 1991, and the type species isB. cernaysi, described from the latePaleocene ofCernay, France (from which thespecies epithet was derived), and possibly also from Germany.[1] Gheerbrandt later redescribed the speciesPeradectes marandati (Crochet and Sigé, 1983) as a species ofBustylus.[2] A third species,B. folieae, was described from the earlyPaleocene ofBelgium by Eric De Bast, Bernard Sigé and Thierry Smith in 2012.B. folieae was named in honour of Dr. Annelise Folie.[1]
