Bryce Peila (born May 8, 1990) is a former professionalAmerican footballlinebacker. After graduating in 2008 fromCrater High School inCentral Point, Oregon he attendedWestern Oregon University and played for the school's football team for four years (2009–12).[1] Peila is second all-time in theGreat Northwest Athletic Conference in careerinterceptions with 20. He also holds the record for return yards with 437 .[2] After his college career was over, Peila kept in football condition while working outside the sport. In 2014, he worked out forPortland Thunderhead coachMatthew Sauk and was subsequently signed to one-year contract to play for the team during their inaugural season.[3] According to the AFL, he stands at 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m) and weighs 205 pounds (93 kg).[4] On March 10, 2017, Peila was assigned to theWashington Valor. On April 5, 2017, Peila was placed on recallable reassignment. On May 2, 2017, Peila was assigned to thePhiladelphia Soul. On August 26, 2017, the Soul beat theTampa Bay Storm inArenaBowl XXX by a score of 44–40.[5]
