Brignoles (French pronunciation: [bʁiɲɔl] Occitan :Brinhòla ) is acommune in theVar department in theProvence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of SoutheasternFrance . AlongsideDraguignan , it is one of twosubprefectures in Var.
It was the summer residence of thecounts ofProvence ; their castle dates from the thirteenth century. In 2020, the commune of Brignoles had a population of 17,652.
