The Bertram Larvan incarnation of the Bug-Eyed Bandit first appeared inThe Atom #26 (August–September 1966) and was created byGardner Fox andGil Kane.[1]

The second Bug-Eyed Bandit first appeared inJustice League America #43 (October 1990), and was created byKeith Giffen,J.M. DeMatteis, andAdam Hughes.

Bertram Larvan

Bertram Larvan is an inventor who designs a mechanical insect to control insect pests, but lacks financial backing. He turns to crime to steal money and becomes an enemy of theAtom.[2] InCrisis on Infinite Earths, he is killed by theAnti-Monitor's Shadow Demons.[3][4]

Following his death, Larvan does not return for many years. InBlackest Night, he is temporarily revived as aBlack Lantern.[5] He is later permanently resurrected following theDC Rebirth relaunch.[6]
