Bridlington was arural district in theEast Riding of Yorkshire in England from 1894 to 1974.[1] It covered a coastal area, and surrounded themunicipal borough ofBridlington on its land borders. The district coveredFlamborough andFlamborough Head.
The district was created by theLocal Government Act 1894.[1] It picked up part of theSherburn Rural District when that was abolished in 1935 by a County Review Order made under theLocal Government Act 1929.[1] At the same time parts of the district were transferred toBridlington andFiley urban districts.[1]
It was abolished in 1974, under theLocal Government Act 1972. The district was split between the new districts ofNorth Wolds inHumberside andScarborough inNorth Yorkshire.
