Boundaries is an Americanmetalcore band fromHartford, Connecticut.[1] The band lineup currently consists of vocalist Matthew McDougal, guitarists Cory Emond and Cody DelVecchio, drummer/vocalist Tim Sullivan and bassist/vocalist Nathan Calcagno.[2]
Boundaries was formed in 2013, with original guitarist Zadak Brooks recruiting musicians from another local band that had split up at the same time Brooks' own cover band had failed.[3][4] Their first release came in 2014, being the singleTwo Faced. The recording was done with original vocalist Jake Buzzell, while featuring Matthew McDougal who would go on to later become the band's full-time frontman after the release of the single. The band continued to record and release singles with McDougal as vocalist, some of which would later appear on theirSpring Demonstration EP in 2018.
In spring of 2017 the band releasedHartford County Misery, which included singleSour Mouth originally released in 2016.[5] During this time, bassist Lucian Armstrong was replaced by Brandon Breedlove.
In 2018, Boundaries were signed to Unbeaten Records and released their first label-backed project,My Body in Bloom, on February 22nd 2019.[6] Recording for the EP took place over the course of 2018-2019, and singlesBlush as well as title trackMy Body in Bloom came out prior to its release.
The band's first full-length LP would release on November 13th, 2020 by the name ofYour Receding Warmth.[6] Three singles were released to promote the album,Carve,Behind the Bend, &I'd Rather Not Say. All three singles were paired with respective music videos, all directed by Erick Easterday. Recording sessions would feature Matthew Di Guglielmo on drums and Junior Scarpa playing guitar, although they would never join the lineup officially after recording for the album took place.
In 2022, Boundaries released their second full length album,Burying Brightness, through 3DOT Recordings.[7] Before the record was released, guitar and founder Zadak Brooks was replaced by Cody DelVecchio on guitar. In promotion of the album, three singles were released:Heaven's Broken Heart,Realize and Rebuild, andBurying Brightness.
On February 8th, 2024, Boundaries released lead singleEasily Erased in promotion of their upcoming albumDeath Is Little More, which was set to release on March 29th 2024. The record was released through 3DOT Recordings, and saw further singlesA Pale Light Lingers andScars On A Soul before the release of the album.[8][5]
