Bluecity was a London-based company providingelectriccar-sharing services, starting from 26 April 2017 to 10 February 2020.[1] The cars provided by the service wereBolloré Bluecars by theBolloré group.

The service used the all-electricBolloré Bluecar,[2] which were adapted to suit London'sleft-hand traffic. It is a three-doorhatchbackelectric car with four seats and has a 30kWhlithium metal polymer (LMP) battery, coupled to asupercapacitor, that provides anelectric range of 250 km (160 mi) in urban use, and a maximum speed of 120 km/h (75 mph).[3]

Operations

The scheme was operational first inLondon Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham from June 2017,[4] and theLondon Borough of Merton followed shortly after.[5]

In 2018, Bluecity located 10 cars atGatwick Airport.[6]

Bluecity shut down permanently on 10 February 2020, after reaching agreements with only three of London's thirty-three local authorities.[7][8]
