Benjamin James Dwarshuis (born 23 June 1994) is an Australiancricketer. He made his international debut for theAustralia cricket team in April 2022.[1]

Early life and family

Dwarshuis was born on 23 June 1994 inKareela,New South Wales to anAustralian family of Dutch descent.[2][3]

Dwarshuis is married to Courtney Bridge.[3]

Career

He made hisList A debut forNew South Wales in the2016–17 Matador BBQs One-Day Cup on 7 October 2016.[4]

In January 2018, he was named in Australia'sTwenty20 International (T20I) squad for the2017–18 Trans-Tasman Tri-Series.[5] Later the same month, he was bought by theKings XI Punjab in the2018 IPL auction.[6] In March 2021, Dwarshuis was signed byWorcestershire County Cricket Club to play in the2021 T20 Blast tournament in England.[7]

On 13 September 2021, Dwarshuis was included in theDelhi Capitals squad for the second phase of the2021 IPL in theUnited Arab Emirates, as a replacement player forChris Woakes.[8] In January 2022, in the2021–22 Big Bash League season, Dwarshuis took his maidenfive-wicket haul in T20 cricket.[9]

In February 2022, Dwarshuis was named in Australia'sTwenty20 International (T20I) squad for their one-off matchagainst Pakistan.[10] He made his T20I debut on 5 April 2022, for Australia againstPakistan.[11]

Dwarshuis made hisfirst-class debut for New South Wales on 3 October 2022, againstWestern Australia in the2022–23 Sheffield Shield season.[12]

In November 2023, he was selected in Australia's squad for the 5-match T20 series against India.[13] In the 4th T20I against India, he picked up 3 wickets for 40 runs off his 4 overs.[14]

In December 2024, Dwarshuis signed for a second spell with Worcestershire, agreeing a deal to play for the club in the 2025 T20 Blast.[15]
