Belén Funes (born 1984) is a Catalanfilm director.[1] She is most noted for her 2019 feature film debutA Thief's Daughter (La hija de un ladrón), for which she won theGaudí Award for Best Director at the12th Gaudí Awards,[2] and theGoya Award forBest New Director at the34th Goya Awards.[3]
Born inBarcelona,[1] Funes earned a degree from theESCAC and continued her filmmaking education in Cuba.[4]
