Bayram Bektaş (born 10 February 1974) is aUEFA Pro Licensed Turkish football manager and formerfootballer.[2][3] He is best known for his spell at Turkish sideBeşiktaş. Used to play atmidfield, Bektaş was able to adapt to attacking midfield or winger positions during his professional career. Bektaş was a part ofBeşiktaş squad winning theSüper Lig title in thecentenary year of the club.[4]
Following his retirement, Bektaş worked atBucaspor,Eskişehirspor,Elazığspor,Gaziantepspor between 2010 and 2013, where he was appointed as assistant manager. He served underBülent Uygun as assistant manager atEskişehirspor andGaziantepspor.[5][6] The duo later joinedQatari sideUmm Salal SC in 2014.[7] Bektaş began his managerial career withTFF First League sideElazığspor in 2015 and he left after a few months. Bektaş joinedBüyükşehir Gaziantepspor the same season and finished theTFF First League in 8th position, and he left at the end of the season. The following season, he returned to his first managerial club toElazığspor in 2016, and finished theseason in 10th position. In 2017 Bektaş asked to leave the club, then joined anotherTFF First League teamÜmraniyespor.[8][9] Bektaş immediately aided the team in achievingpromotion playoffs butÜmraniyespor lost two games with score 4–3[10] and 2–1[11] and failed to gain promotion toSüper Lig. On 23 May 2017, Bektaş was appointed theSüper Lig sideGöztepe for 1+1 years.
On 19 December 2018, Bektaş was appointed as the manager ofMKE Ankaragücü.[12] However, after less than a month, he parted ways with the club.[13]
Due to spending youth years on French sideAJ Auxerre, Bektaş is fluent in French language.[14] Bektaş is married with one child.[14]
