TheBattle of Dholpur in today's India occurred between theKingdom of Mewar, led byRana Sanga, and theLodi dynasty of theDelhi Sultanate, commanded byIbrahim Lodi, culminating in a victory for Mewar.

After his defeat toSanga at the Battle of Khatoli,Lodi prepared to retaliate against Sanga. TheMewar forces were strained as they were engaged in conflicts with theSultans of Malwa andGujarat. The battle, nearDholpur, witnessed a successful charge by the Mewar army, resulting in the defeat of the opposing forces. Following this victory, Sanga extended his conquests to encompass much of present-dayRajasthan.

As a result of this victory, the territories ofMalwa, previously seized by Muhammad Shah (Sahib Khan), the younger brother of Sultan Mahmud Khilji II ofMandu during his rebellion against his brother, and later annexed by SultanSikander Lodi, father of Sultan Ibrahim Lodi, came under the control ofRana Sanga, theMaharana of Mewar.Chanderi was among the territories captured by the Maharana, who subsequently bestowed it as a gift uponMedini Rai.The fortress ofGwalior was also captured.[1] Ibrahim Lodi attempted to besiege the forts ofRanthambhore andAjmer, which were under the control of Rana Sanga, but he faced defeat for the third time.[2]
