Bastian Buus (born 20 June 2003)[1] is aDanish racing driver who is set to compete in the2025 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters for Allied Racing. He is a part of thePorsche Junior Program.[2][3][4] He also is aTeam Danmark athlete.[3] Buus is the2023 Porsche Supercup champion.
Buus didn't have many karting achievements from when he started in 2013, but his biggest achievement was coming second place in the 2015 Danish Championship - Cadet Junior class.[4][5] He also participated in various WSK events, including theWSK Super Master Series,WSK Final Cup and WSK Open Series. He finished 9th in theWSK Final Cup -OKJ class in 2017
In 2018, Buus made his debut in theAquila Synergy Cup, where he achieved much for success then he did in karting.[4] He won 9 races and got 14 podiums out of the 15 races he was in, with 3 poles and 8 fastest laps, he came 2nd in the championship with 450 points.
Buus's first appearance in GT4's was competing in the2020 GT4 European Series Pro-Am class full time for Allied-Racing alongside Jan Kasperlik.[5][6] The pair beat formerFormula 2 driver and currentSuper Formula driver,Cem Bölükbaşı and Yağız Gedik to the Pro-Am title, winning 8 out of 12 races.[7][4]
Buus contested the final round of the2021 GT4 European Series with Allied Racing, partnering Joel Sturm in the Silver class.[8] The pair won a race that lifted Buus to being classified as 17th in the championship standings with 25 points.[9][10]
Buus made an appearance for Allied Racing for the second to last round of the2020 DTM Trophy in Zolder, replacing Felix Hirsiger. He scored 12 points in the two races he drove in.[11]
Buus made hisPorsche Carrera Cup debut in the 2020Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in a one-off guest appearance in the final round inOschersleben, he was unable to start the first race but came 11th in the second race.[12]
In 2021 he competed in thePorsche Carrera Cup Germany full time, as he fought for the rookie title and also fought for podiums in the overall standings, getting his maiden podium in race 1 of the second race inMonza, and another podium in the final race of the final round of the championship inHockenheim.[3][12] He finished the championship in seventh with 120 points.[13] Buus was pipped to the rookie title byLoek Hartog, as the Dane was runner up to the rookie classification.[13][14]
For his 2022 campaign, he competed full time in thePorsche Carrera Cup Germany and in the2022 Porsche Carrera Cup France for Allied Racing.[3][13] He achieved his maiden win in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in the first race atImola, and got his maiden pole in the first race ofLausitzring.[15][16] He finished his campaign in fourth with 8 podiums and 236 points.
In the Porsche Carrera Cup France, he didn't win any races but got 5 podiums and won the rookie classification, finishing his maiden season with 137 points in fourth.
Buus contested the2022 Porsche Supercup season withBWT Lechner Racing, partneringDylan Pereira andHarry King.[3][17][18] He achieved his first podium in theRed Bull Ring and got his first pole and win inCircuit Paul Ricard.[19][20][21] Buus won the final race of the season inMonza, finishing his rookie season in fourth place with 120 points, while also winning the rookie classification.[22][23]
In 2023 Buus remained in thePorsche Supercup withBWT Lechner Racing and thePorsche Carrera Cup Germany with Allied Racing. He won the2023 Porsche Supercup title and took took his first win in his campaign at theRed Bull Ring. Buus finished with 122 points, five podiums and one win.[24][25]
Meanwhile in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, he came third in the championship after getting three wins, nine podiums, one pole position and 239 points.
In 2021, Buus also joined his regular team Allied Racing for three races, starting from the24 Hours of Spa in theGT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup - Silver. Where he came 9th in his category, he came 14th at theNürburgring and 15th in theCircuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.[26][27]
Buus rejoined the championship in2024, competing with Lionspeed GP. He competed in the bronze category, and got one podium at the third round at theNürburgring. Buus retired from the final two races of the season atMonza andJeddah, getting his maiden fastest lap in the latter.[28]
In the bronze category, he finished the championship in 19th with 20 points, and in the overall championship he didn't score a point, with his highest result being a 28th at theNürburgring.
Buus made his debut in the series forEarl Bamber Motorsport in theGT class, partneringThai racing driverTanart Sathienthirakul, andIndonesian racing driver Setiawan Santoso.[29] He had a best result of 11th in the first round of the championship at theSepang International Circuit. He and his teammates came 29th in the championship.
Buus did three races in the2024 Intercontinental GT Challenge, first in the2024 Bathurst 12 Hour where he got his only podium after getting third in his category, he also drove in the2024 24 Hours of Nürburgring, coming 13th in the race, but 9th in IGTC standings. Buus finished his season with a 11th place at2024 Indianapolis 8 Hours. He finished the championship in 15th with 16 points.
He also completed in the2024 GT World Challenge Asia with Phantom Global Racing for the first two rounds. Buus came 4th and 19th in the first round at theSepang International Circuit, and came 15th and 7th in the next round atBuriram International Circuit. Buus returned to the series in the fifth round of the series atOkayama International Circuit with Origine Motorsport. He came 5th and 4th in the races and got his first pole position in the second race. Buus came 17th in the drivers championship with 40 points.[30][31]
For 2025, Buus would compete in the2025 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters with Allied Racing, partneringRicardo Feller.[32]
Buus currently resides in Nørre Bjert,Kolding Municipality together with his family.[3]
