Baseball Ireland is responsible for thenational baseball team and overseeing theIrish Baseball League.
Baseball Ireland was founded in 1989 with the aim to develop and further the growth of baseball and softball in Ireland. Organised baseball has been played in Ireland since the late 1990s. During 1995 and 1996, visiting coaches fromMajor League Baseball provided instruction to senior players and contributed to the establishment of the first Irish national senior team, which participated in the1996 European Championships held in Hull, England.[3]
