Anneliese Midgley is a BritishLabour Party politician who has been theMember of Parliament forKnowsley since2024.
Midgeley was born inStockbridge Village.[1] She attended Brookside Community School.[2]
Her first job was atThe Beatles Shop inLiverpool when she was thirteen.[3] She worked as aDJ in nightclubs before getting involved in politics.[4]
Midgley previously worked forKen Livingstone when he wasMayor of London. She also worked onJeremy Corbyn's 2015 leadership campaign and became his deputy chief of staff.[5] She then worked as the political director ofUnite the union before becoming an adviser forKeir Starmer andAngela Rayner.[6]
In February 2024, she was selected to succeed long-serving MPGeorge Howarth in the2024 United Kingdom general election.[7]
