Anna Dixon is a BritishLabour Party politician who has beenMember of Parliament forShipley since2024.[2]

Education and career

Dixon was educated atIlkley Grammar School inWest Yorkshire.[3] She then attendedTrinity Hall, Cambridge, where she read social and political science, followed by theLondon School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and theLondon School of Economics, where she was awarded a PhD in social policy in 2007.[3][4]

Dixon worked as Director of Policy at theKing's Fund, before becoming Director of Quality and Strategy and Chief Analyst at theDepartment of Health in 2013.[5]

In 2015 Dixon took a leadership role in the charity Centre for Ageing Better, work for which she was awarded anMBE in 2021.[6]

Dixon was selected as aLabour Party general election candidate for theShipley constituency on 31 July 2022,[7] and ran in the2024 general election, beatingConservative incumbentPhilip Davies by 8,603 votes.[1]
