Anatoly Fomich Sass (Russian:Анатолий Фомич Сасс; 22 December 1935 – 31 August 2023) was a Russianrower who competed for theSoviet Union in the1964 Summer Olympics and in the1968 Summer Olympics.
Anatoly Fomich Sass was born inMoscow on 22 December 1935.[1]
At the1964 Olympics, he was a crew member of the Soviet boat which finished seventh in thecoxless four event.[1] Sass stood in for the singlesculls champion who was suffering from illness,Vyacheslav Ivanov, at the1965 European Rowing Championships, where he won the silver medal.[2][3] At the1968 Olympics, he and his partnerAleksandr Timoshinin won the gold medal in the double sculls event.[1]
Sass died on 31 August 2023, at the age of 87.[4]
