Amphientomidae is afamily ofPsocodea (formerlyPsocoptera) belonging to thesuborderTroctomorpha.[1] The presence of scales on their wings gives them a superficial resemblance to the unrelated familyLepidopsocidae (withinTrogiomorpha), and both families can pass formicrolepidoptera to the untrained eye.[2] The family comprises 100 species arranged in twenty genera.
