Amanda Righetti (born April 4, 1983)[1] is an American actress. She is known for playing Grace Van Pelt onThe Mentalist and her roles inFriday the 13th,The O.C. andColony.

Early life

The youngest of eight children,[2] Righetti was born on April 4, 1983, inSt. George, Utah,[1] and raised inNevada,[3] outsideLas Vegas.[2] Her father, Alexander Dominic Righetti, is of Italian descent,[4] while her mother, Linda Carol Chisum, is of German, French, and English descent.[citation needed]

Career

Righetti started modeling at age 14, then moved toLos Angeles at 18 to start her acting career.[3] After securing a role in thepilot for a proposed series by the name ofNo Place Like Home, she played a recurring character in the teen dramaThe O.C.,[2] was a regular in the primetimesoap operaNorth Shore, and in late 2005, Righetti starred inFox's drama seriesReunion. Her other credits include a recurring role onK-Ville,[5] guest roles onCSI: Crime Scene Investigation andEntourage, and a role in the television filmRomy and Michele: In the Beginning.[2]

In 2006, Righetti signed on to star as the female lead in horror sequelReturn to House on Haunted Hill. The film was releaseddirect-to-video in October 2007. In April 2008, she was cast as the female lead in the slasher filmFriday the 13th (2009).[5] Production ended in June 2008 and the film was released in theaters on February 13, 2009. Also that year, Righetti was signed to theCBS seriesThe Mentalist,[5] in the role ofGrace Van Pelt.[2] Her 2012 to 2013 pregnancy was not reflected in her character's storyline, during which she was filmed using selective angles and largely limited to desk duty.[6] Righetti leftThe Mentalist after season six.[7]

In September 2011, Righetti signed with talent agencyUTA.[8]

From 2016 to 2017, Righetti played role of Maddie Kenner inColony.

In 2017, Righetti starred as a divorced novelist in theHallmark Channel television filmLove at the Shore.[9]

Righetti starred in the 2021 holiday romance filmChristmas at the Ranch, withLindsay Wagner,Laur Allen,Archie Kao, andDia Frampton, playing the character Kate.[10]

In 2024, Righetti playedNelle Reagan, the mother ofUnited States PresidentRonald Reagan inSean McNamara'sbiopicReagan.[11]

Personal life

Righetti married director and writerJordan Alan on April 29, 2006, on the Hawaiian island ofOahu.[12] They have a son, born in 2013.[13] Righetti filed for divorce in 2017.[14][15]
