Alfredo Damián Mendoza Sulewski (born 12 December 1963 inEncarnación) is a retiredfootballstriker fromParaguay. A player ofCerro Porteño he was a member of thenational team that competed at the1986 FIFA World Cup inMexico. At the club level he also played forOlimpia Asunción,Mandiyú andNewell's Old Boys ofArgentina andClub Atlas of Mexico.[1]
Born inEncarnación, Paraguay, Mendoza began playing football in localClub Silvio Pettirossi's youth system. He moved toAsunción, where he briefly played senior football withClub Atlético Tembetary andClub Guaraní, before signing withCerro Porteño.[2]
In 1986, Mendoza moved toColombia where he would play forIndependiente Medellín andDeportivo Cali. After spells with local sideClub Olimpia and France'sStade Brestois 29, he spent most of the remainder of his career in Argentina withTextil Mandiyú andNewell's Old Boys.[2]
