Alex Witt Reports (MSNBC Reports when expanding until 5 PM for breaking news) is a news program onMSNBC anchored byAlex Witt. The program airs noon and 3 hours in the afternoon handing off to MSNBC Live (4 -5 PM)[1] as of January 2024, the program broadcasts from noon to 4 P.M on weekends
Witt previously anchored the weekend edition ofMSNBC Live. When MSNBC announced that regular contributorChris Hayes would be hosting a new weekend talk show, she was given a branded program as part of the network's new weekend morning lineup.[2][3]Weekends with Alex Witt andUp with Chris Hayes debuted on September 17, 2011.
In a 2015 realignment of MSNBC's daytime lineup,Weekends was removed from the lineup, but Witt maintained her time slot under theMSNBC Live banner. TheWeekends branding was later reinstated. In March 2021, it was announced that the program would be rebranded asAlex Witt Reports, reintegrating it with theMSNBC Live programs under a new standard brand.[4][5]
