Alexander Sutcliffe (born 21 January 1999) is an English professionalrugby league footballer who plays as acentre andsecond-row forward forDoncaster RLFC in theRFL Championship.

He has previously played for theLeeds Rhinos, and spent time on loan from Leeds atFeatherstone Rovers in theChampionship.

Sutcliffe was born inWakefield, West Yorkshire, England.

He is not related to former Rhinos teammateLiam Sutcliffe.[5] He has an older brother and a younger sister. He attendedRoyds School.[6][7]

Career

Leeds Rhinos

In 2017 he made hisSuper League début forLeeds against theWigan Warriors.[8]

He has spent time on loan atFeatherstone Rovers in the2019 Betfred Championship.

On 17 October 2020, he played in the2020 Challenge Cup Final victory for Leeds over Salford atWembley Stadium.[9]

On 9 Aug 2021 it was reported that he had signed forFeatherstone Rovers in theRFL Championship on loan for the remainder of the 2021 season.[10]

Castleford Tigers

On 21 September 2021, it was reported that he had signed forCastleford in theSuper League[11]Sutcliffe was limited to only seven games for Castleford in theSuper League XXVIII season as the club finished 11th on the table narrowly avoiding relegation.[12]

Doncaster RLFC

On 27 Oct 2023 it was reported that he will joinDoncaster RLFC for the 2024 season.[13]
