Alec Sokolow is an Americanscreenwriter who has worked on such projects as the filmsCheaper by the Dozen,[1]Toy Story,[2]Money Talks,[citation needed] andGarfield: The Movie.[3] He frequently works with writing partnerJoel Cohen.

Along withJoss Whedon,Andrew Stanton,John Lasseter,Pete Docter,Joe Ranft, and Cohen, Sokolow was nominated in 1995 for theAcademy Award forBest Writing (Original Screenplay) for his work onToy Story.[4]

Beyond writing, Sokolow and Cohen jointly directedMonster Mash: The Movie (1995) and executive producedGnomes and Trolls: The Secret Chamber (2008).
